Images are processed locally in your browser and never sent to any server.
No analytics, no telemetry, no usage data collected or transmitted.
No account creation, no email address, no personal information required.
The extension does not request access to your tabs, history, or any website.
1. What data we collect
We collect no personal data whatsoever. Blur & Annotate does not collect, store, transmit, or process any information about you or your usage.
2. How your images are handled
All image editing happens entirely within your browser tab using the HTML5 Canvas API. Images you load — whether by file upload, drag and drop, or clipboard paste — are kept in your browser's local memory only for the duration of your editing session.
Images are never sent to any server, never stored on disk by the extension, and are discarded when you close or reload the tab.
3. Permissions
Blur & Annotate requests no special Chrome permissions. It does not use tabs, history, storage, cookies, or any host permission patterns. The extension opens a new tab (chrome://newtab-style page) for the editor UI and has no access to any other tab or website you visit.
4. Third-party services
Blur & Annotate does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data-collection services. There are no external script includes, no tracking pixels, and no network requests made by the extension during normal use.
5. Clipboard access
When you press Ctrl+V, the browser prompts you to allow clipboard read access for that session. This access is used only to load an image you have copied to your clipboard. No clipboard content is stored, logged, or transmitted.
When you click the Copy export button, the extension writes the finished image to your clipboard using the standard Clipboard API. No data leaves your machine.
6. Children's privacy
Blur & Annotate does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Because we collect no data at all, there is nothing to disclose under COPPA or similar regulations.
7. Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Given the nature of the extension (no data collection), material changes are unlikely.
